4/13/12 — Spring Retreat

This will be a time when we can take a step back from the world and its distractions and find time to focus on God and bond with our brothers and sisters of Compass. Henry Ow, a former Compass alumni, will be flying from Texas to teach us about the supremacy of Christ and having spiritual fullness in Christ.

3/2/12 — Lock-In

Compass will be having a Lock-In this Friday to Saturday morning (3/2-3/3), which means that we get the whole church to ourselves overnight to do whatever we want! Think of it as a massive 'sleep'over, without the sleeping part. (And potentially go to the ARC the next morning so bring your stuff if you are interested). It will be a great time to be in a very clean church and hang out and get to know a bunch of pretty cool people! Along with that, seeing as how we have all night, there is going to be a set of guys vs gals mini games. It's going to be some fun & friendly competition.

It's not going to be any ordinary Friday. We have a night scheduled with many exciting games, but also times set where we mellow down and break into smaller groups to discuss and reflect with your college mates the happenings of your lives and experiences. It's going to be great time to learn about and support each other and a time to build deeper relationships.

After we finish everything, there will be plenty of time to hang around and chill and talk and eat into the morning where we can hear the birds chirping. If some of you would like to sleep, we have a quieter upstairs for you to rest up and recover in.

12/2/11 — Gingerbread House Making

The gingerbread event is on after our sharing meeting at Compass this Friday 12/2 (Starting at the normal time of 7:30). We will carpool to Oakshade 239! The goods will be provided, so all you have to do is show up with a desire to build and eat. But I do have to ask that if you could just bring $3 to cover the finances, that would help out tremendously.

If you have some yearning desire for a specific ornament (candies, etc) for your house, please specify so I can purchase it. All are welcome, this is the last meeting of the quarter!

11/21/11 — Progressive Dinner

It's time for FREE FOOD this Monday November 21st at 8 pm! Progressive Dinner is "a dinner party in which each successive course is prepared and eaten at the residence of a different host. Alternatively, each course may be eaten at a different dining area within a single large establishment. It is essentially a variant on a potluck dinner, with travel involved." Compass fellowship upperclassmen would like to invite freshmen/transfers/and friends to come join us for home cooked meals that the upperclassmen will be cooking!

We will be splitting up into groups and traveling from house to house, dining with a different class for a different course of your meals! We want to fellowship and get to know upperclassmen/freshmen that you either don't know, don't know very well, or people that you know well and would like to hang out with! Please invite anyone you would like to invite!

11/4/11 — Broomball

This Friday night, November 4th is broomball! If you haven't played before, it's like hockey but without skates and played with a ball. This event is also a costume contest! So please come in your finest, silliest, scariest, most awesomest outfits! Usually people coordinate with their class to have a theme, but feel free to be who you want to be. Just remember that we will also be playing broomball, so have a mobile costume or one that you can easily take on and off. We will be having class scrimmages and competitive shootouts!

After pictures, we will be coordinating rides and leave church by 9:30 pm to go to the ice rink in Vacaville. We have a reservation there from 10-12. Please bring $10 to cover the fees for this event, it's a small fee to pay compared to the amount of FUN you are about to have!
